What I bring to the table
Research-driven UX design with a focus on accessibility and public impact
Behind the canvas
“Design, like music, is about timing, balance, and flow.”
Hi, my name is Evelyn.
I am a UX designer and researcher with a background in music and a strong interest in accessibility, human perception, and real-world user needs.
I am currently a graduate student in UX Design at Wilfrid Laurier University. Before transitioning into UX, I studied musicology with a focus on vocal performance, piano, and music theory. My training in music shaped how I understand attention, emotion, timing, and flow — elements that deeply influence how people experience both sound and interaction.
Through performance and research-based curation projects, I became increasingly aware of how powerful well-designed experiences can be when they are grounded in real user and audience needs. This realization led me to pursue UX design, where I now focus on research-driven, human-centered problem solving.
My work emphasizes user research, prototyping, and the thoughtful integration of qualitative insights with quantitative methods. I am especially interested in designing systems that support people in complex or high-stakes contexts, such as public safety, accessibility, and health-related decision making.
I believe good design is not about decoration, but about clarity, balance, and intention — creating experiences that feel intuitive, respectful, and meaningful.
